Sound Engineering

Short Programmes upgrade skills and knowledge to ensure success in a chosen field of learning, but are not credit bearing and not registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

DESCRIPTION

The course deals with the practical application of sound recording and mixing techniques. The course is intensive and pitched at industry standards.

The course is aimed at students who have (or plan to have) their own studios, have their own bands or want to record and mix music (live or in a studio).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• English proficiency
• Basic computer skills

The course consists of 4 modules

• Basic principles of Sound Engineering (BSE)
• Band Recording Principles: (BRP)
• Multi-track Music Mixing (MMM)
• Post Production Sound: (PPS)

CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of the programme, the learner will receive the CityVarsity Certificate of Proficiency in Sound Engineering
