Sound engineering technicians operate machinery which records and plays back sound in public areas and sound booths. These professionals consult with performers and clients to determine needs, and tailor sound systems to match the requirements of events. They report equipment failures, ensure repairs are made, and take down equipment following the completion of events. Sound engineering tehnicians may also work in the digital post-processing of recordings to seperate instruments, voices and other sounds, and may work with pre-recorded sound bytes.
